Bogota High School |
Welcome to the Class of "54 Reunion
| Remember when Dwight Eisenhower was President? Remember also when the
French were fighting a colonial war in a little-known place called Vietnam
in Indo-China? Remember too when Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy
began Congressional hearings on communists in the U.S. Army and when Henry
Aaron began his baseball career with the Milwaukee Braves? You all should,
since all these events happened the year we said goodbye to Bogota High
School. That was a half century ago. Where has the time gone? Hopefully for all of you it has been a productive 50 years with careers and families to develop and see to fruition. My guess is the road to success has been rocky and has taken many turns, like moving through a maze not knowing where the end might be. Sometimes you tripped and fell and got hurt. But you learned to pick yourself up and move on, hopefully learning from the hurt. But what a 50-years it has been. To think that the world only saw powered flight in 1903. Yet in our life time humans walked on our moon and now human-made machines are moving across the surface of Mars. Perhaps some of you helped create the technologies that have enriched our lives. What a wonderful half-century it has been. And so we meet again after our years at Bogota High School that brought us together. Some of you have remained friends for all these years. Others will have come together for our reunion to renew acquaintances long broken and reminisce about those events that impacted our lives over the intervening years. Our ranks have thinned a bit and hopefully as you thumb through the pages of our reunion book you will remember those classmates who cannot be with us. Regretfully too, are those who we were been unable to locate and share this reunion. Keep them in mind and should your paths cross with one of them, reestablish communications and tell them we missed them. I would like to offer my personal thanks to everyone that made this reunion possible and wish you all the very best wishes for continued happiness and good health. Bernie Ferrara Class President |
