After graduation, Peggy became a Customer Service
Representative for New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. In
October of 1954 Peggy and Phil Calitre were married and after
the birth of their first child, in 1955, she left New Jersey
Bell to be a "stay at home" mom. Son Phil, and daughter
Laura, were born in 1958 and 1959, respectively. Raising the
3 children, coaching cheerleading and being a Den Mother for
her son's Cub Scout den kept Peg pretty busy all through the
'60's. In 1970 she went back to work, this time for Valley
Savings and Loan, and in 1977 became Secretary to the
President of the bank. She retired in 1983.
When asked how she's changed, she replies, "Well, I'm less
talkative now, if you can believe it, and more introspective
than I was in high school. However, I haven't changed my
outlook on life and am always inclined to be an optimist."
As for special achievements, Peggy would rate
conducting/teaching seminars on human relations as one of
hers. Her most unforgettable moment was being able to watch
her son graduate from law school - the first lawyer in their
family!
Peggy continues to do all sorts of things with her husband,
her children and her grandchildren and just loves every minute
of it.

I joined the United States Air Force after
school and spent 4 years stationed in the Far
East, Japan, and Okinawa. After serving my tour I was
stationed in Washington D.C. until I was discharged in
1957.I them went to work for Federal Electric Service
and spent time on the Titan Missile Project building Missle Silos in the state of Washington.. From there I
went to Europe where I spent time installing Tropospheric Scatter Radio Systems for NATO. Most of my
time was spent in Holland and Germany. When the project
was finished I came home and met my Wife Adeline at the
Jersey shore. We were married and started our family. We
have a son Richard and twin girls Susan and Cindy. As
they were growing up I decided to go to college under
the Korean Veterans Bill. I attended Fairleigh Dickinson
University and received a BS in Marketing and A MBA in
Marketing. After graduation in 1972 I taught Business
part time at FDU and also taught at Essex Community College. I always had the desire to open a business so my
wife and I started a electrical wholesale
business, founding Heritage Electrical Supply .At this
time I also became interested in flying, I trained and
received my Private Pilots License. My son and I
purchased a Cherokee 140 and had many happy hours
flying it. My wife and I spent 20 years in the electrical
wholesale business. During our 20 years in the businessas
a sideline and hobby my wife and I bought and sold, bred,
raised and trained both QH and TB horses for sale
and for our own use .We retired from Heritage Electric
and I went into the construction business A.R.Richards
for the next five years. When I reached 62 I retired I
and keep myself busy with grandchildren, we have 4,and
enjoy my first love fishing. I have had many important
moments in life, meeting my wife, having children, seeing
my newborn grandkids, all wonderful moments that as we
grow older I appreciate more and more.
