Janet says she finds herself saying more and
more often lately, "Better over the hill than
under the hill". Her interests run the gamut
from art history to watercolor painting, choral
music and German opera (specifically Wagner),
which she pursues in NYC (being fortunate enough
to live so close to Lincoln Center). She has
now begun the study of the German language,
which, she says, is tough at our age. She also
enjoys gardening, not only weeding and digging
in her own little garden, but visiting and
enjoying those magnificent, special public
gardens around the country.
As to how she has changed, Janet says, “for
the better I would hope; wiser and more
flexible. One looks at life from a
different perspective now. She regrets not
flying on the Concord (while it was still
possible), nor visiting northern Iraq and
northern Iran to study the ancient
civilizations that once flourished there.
Janet claims "I should have done that in the
1960's or 1970's when it was still possible,
and I was younger and could have ridden on
that camel!! The reunion has given us a
reason to reflect upon the past 50 years, in
effect our lifetime: all this one
paragraph? Impossible!!
