Elaine Hildebrant (deceased)
 |
| At the 50th reunion of our high
school graduation, those attending will miss those
classmates that cannot be there. From the perspective of
1954, this anniversary would seem to be an eternity, but
from the perspective of 2003 looking back, aided by
these photographs, 1954 seems like yesterday. Thank you
Elaine for being our classmate. |

After graduating in 1958 from Wagner College in Staten
Island (where she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi
Society) Pat served as a Navy nurse, USNH in San Diego until
1960. She and Edward were married in January, 1960 and had
3 children before moving to Phoenix in 1964. In 1967 Ed
was sent to Vietnam and Pat moved back to California. When
her husband returned they moved to Camp Pendleton, CA and
their 4th child was born. When Edward left the Marine
Corps. in 1970, the family moved to Phoenix again and their
5th child was born in 1971. Pat worked for a couple of banks
from 1972 thru 1988 when her job as Operations Officer at
the Wells Fargo Bank was eliminated. In 1990 Pat quit
smoking (good for you) and went back to school,
Arizona State U. where she graduated in 1996, Summa Cum
Laude.
Since then she and her husband have enjoyed a "rather" quiet
life, taken several cruises (Alaska, Panama Canal & Mexican
Riviera) and spend lots of time with their grandkids. They
enjoy attending the symphony, reading, watching TV and
taking care of each other.
Knowing the 50th reunion is almost here has brought back
many memories of BHS for Pat, such as, riding the bus to &
from Maywood; Mrs. Sachtlaben's college English class;
singing in the girls glee club & mixed choir & Mr. Dente.
Pat also remembers driver's ed, the tiny lunchroom (lousy
food), study halls, and so much more.
Her special achievements would be the Meritorius Service
Award from the Navy Relief Society and graduating Summa Cum
Laude from Arizona State. Her most unforgettable moment was
the day her husband returned from Vietnam. Pat says she
loves reading, classical music, travel, cruising, trips to
Vegas and most of all, her family. She hopes she is less
selfish, more compassionate, more mature and with a greater
appreciation of the grandeur of our country. C'an't be at
the reunion, but wishes everyone her best. |
