Judy attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck for two years
after graduation from BHS. Then, in February of 1957, she
married Bert Shaw, who, at the time, was manager of Arcola
Pool in Rochelle Park, and off-season worked in real
estate sales. Later he became a full-time residential
builder. Judy was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom while
their two daughters were growing up in Saddle River. She
served in various volunteer capacities at the school, in
church, scouts, the local hospital and civic
organizations. Eventually, she went to work part-time in
a pediatric office in Jersey City, where she did some
secretarial work and vision and hearing screenings on
preschoolers. She and Bert moved to Point Pleasant Beach
in 1989, and now that she's retired, they enjoy their life
at the "Jersey Shore". It's a perfect spot, as fishing is
their sport, and means a lot to both of them.
She and Bert travel often; they make a couple of trips a
year to visit with their girls and their families.
Daughter Linda lives in Nevada with her husband and two
sons. They have their own business-Comstock Seed
Company-wholesalers of wild flower and native grass
seeds. Daughter Donna lives in the Atlanta, Georgia area,
has her bachelor's degree in business, but is mainly a
stay-at-home-mom who occasionally works part-time and does
volunteer work. Other trips are frequently chosen with
fishing in mind. Alaska is their all-time favorite
destination.
