Earle's career has focused
on music. After graduating from Oberlin
college/conservatory of Music, having spent his junior
year at the Salzburg, Austria, Mozarteum School of
Music, he enrolled in Union Theological Seminary's
Masters of Sacred Music Program and completed his degree
there.
As organist-choirmaster
at Ridgewood Methodist Church, he designed and
recommended a builder for the large 4 manual , 66 stop
pipe organ still being played there today. He also
became organist at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center,
where he broadcast weekly coast-to-coast playing the
fine Swiss-made Kuhn organ there for seven years.
During this time he also formed Cultural Organ Tours,
taking teachers, players and friends of the organ to see
and play Europe's famous organs in Germany, Holland,
Denmark, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Italy and
Spain.
Earle has now moved back to
his family birthplace of Bedford, Virginia, where he is
presently organist/choirmaster of Thrasher Memorial
United Methodist Church, Vinton, Va. He loves living in
the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As
for retirement, Earle says, "Retirement?..well let's
just say I'm having too much fun to stop now"!
